Saturday, July 17, Travis Calvin will share his musical talents in Clarksdale, MS and the public is invited to attend this free family event.
“From Me 2 You” will introduce Travis as a solo artist. As one of Mississippi’s lead guitarists, he will play alongside two of Clarksdale’s finest vocalists, Kandis Webb and Marian Hickmon. As an added attraction, world renowned orchestra conductor, Maestro Ezra Howard will accompany on saxophone.
Travis has shared the stage with countless blues and gospel artists including B. B. King, Bobby Rush, Rance Allen, Marvin Sapp, Dorinda Clark Cole, Williams Brothers, Dorothy Norwood, Lee Williams, Bill Howl-n-Mad Perry, Dr. Alphonso Sanders, and many others.
His television appearances include Nickelodeon and the Travel Channel.
Travis was the first recipient from the Mississippi Delta of a distinguished five week scholarship to the Berklee School of Music in Boston to share his blues talents with artists of all musical genres at the camp and to learn from other attendees and instructors.
A graduate of Clarksdale High School, Travis was valedictorian this past spring at Coahoma Community College. He will attend Delta State University this fall.
