Party Thursday, April 22, will honor Gibbons
The B.B. King Museum & Delta Interpretive Center Board of Directors and staff, along with several friends, are throwing a party Thursday, April 22, at Club Ebony in Indianola to honor its departing executive director Connie Gibbons .
The public is invited to the event which begins at 7 p.m. and will feature music by the Grady Champion Band. Champion is the 2010 International Blues Challenge winner. His harmonica skills, high-energy singing and showmanship are crowd pleasers.
Gibbons retired from her position at the museum in early March and is working as a consultant on several projects for the museum until mid-May. She served as executive director for four years and has helped the Indianola tourist attraction win praise and awards by national museum professionals.
