CLARKSDALE: Music Maker Festival (a tribute to Mr. Tater)

MUSIC MAKER FESTIVAL

“A tribute to the late, great Mr. Tater — The Music Maker of Clarksdale”

Hailed as the last of the Mississippi Delta blues street musicians, Foster “Mr. Tater” Wiley (1947-2010) made friends and fans around the world through his spirited performances most days and many nights in historic Clarksdale, Mississippi.  Mr. Tater appeared in major media around the globe, recorded over a dozen CDs, and shared the stage with an amazing array of fellow blues artists.  He is perhaps best remembered for his daily solo shows outside of the Cat Head store, his late-night weekend jams at Ground Zero Blues Club, and his regular Sunday night gig at Club 2000.  He is missed but far from forgotten.  (Thanks to Mary Jane Haley and friends for coordinating this event.)
