CLARKSDALE: Shackup Inn hosts Barefoot Workshops films (6:30pm)

Documentary Screening Friday Night!!!

Barefoot Workshops is presenting a series of six short documentary films — some blues based — at the Shack Up Inn on Friday February 26, 2010.  The 10 minute films all focus on local men and women and their stories.

The two week workshop, which brought in 12 students from as far away as AustraliaFrance, and Cameroon, teaches how to tell stories through documentary film.  Hundreds of hours are put into each film over the two weeks they are here and great care is taken in documenting the lives of some of our local characters.

The films feature a wide variety of Delta residents including bluesman Bill Abel, Ellis Coleman (Super Chikan’s brother), Gertha Milton, John Ruskey (canoeist/musician/artist), bluesman Pat Thomas, Charles Wright, and Joey Young.

An amazing amount of time and effort have gone into these films during the workshop.  Please spread the word and come out to support the filmmakers.  Barefoot Workshops is doing great things in documenting the lives and stories of our community.   See you there on Friday!!!
