5/22 – Soul Survivors Festival

“First annual Soul Survivors Festival, May 22, 2010, will see the unveiling of a Mississippi Blues Marker on the lawn of the Delta Music Museum. The marker will tell of Haney’s Big House, one of the many clubs on the “chittlin’ circuit” of years ago, which was frequented by great artists like B B King and Fats Domino. The festival will also feature Team GhostRiders (aka “Monkeys riding dogs” from Pontotoc, MS), Mississippi recording artist Hezekiah Early, Excello legend Jimmy Anderson, Lil Poochie, YZ Ealey (Theodis’ brother from MS), and several other acts. There will also be kids activities, art, and a nod to Spencer Williams, Jr’s work in film.
