Mississippi blues legend JAMES “T-MODEL” FORD passed away after a long illness at home in Greenville, Mississippi, on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 (according to his birth certificate, he was born in 1921), surrounding by his loving wife and family. VISITATION is Friday, July 26 at Redmond Funeral Home located at 442 N. Broadway, Greenville, MS 38701 (662-335-8116) from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.
FUNDRAISER for the funeral will be held at T-Model’s house at 216 N Delta, Greenville, MS 38703, starting at 3:30 PM.
FUNERAL services for James Lewis Carter “T-Model” Ford will be held at the Washington County Convention Center at 1040 S Raceway Rd Greenville, MS 38703 (662-332-0488), Saturday July 27 starting at 11:00 AM with a repast for the family following.
NOTE ON DIRECTIONS: The convention center is on South Raceway Road which is off of Highway 82, BUT… there is NO SIGN on 82 for either the road or the convention center. Where you turn off Hwy 82, there is a McDonald’s restaurant on one corner and Raceway Express Shell gas station on the other; you want to turn onto the cross street (Raceway) at the gas station corner. Then, keep driving till you see the convention center on your left.
