The Central Mississippi Blues Society will be hosting its 4th annual local Blues Challenge to send a solo or duo act and a band to compete in the 2012 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. The IBC in Memphis will be held Feb. 1,2,3 and 4. The local winners must be present in Memphis for the whole event.
CMBS members and sponsored acts making it through the Memphis IBC all the way to the finals have been: Stevie J and the Blues Eruption, Sherman Lee Dillon and Grady Champion (2010 IBC winner-sponsored by the Indianola Blues Society) and Stevie J’s CD made it to the Best Self-Produced finals.
We are extremely proud of these musicians as well as the other wonderful musicians who we have sponsored including D’Mar and Chris Gill and The Jarekus Singleton Band.
Acts who want to compete locally must be from Mississippi or have been born in Mississippi.

Solo/duo competition will be held Monday October 10, 2011 at 8:00 p.m.
Band competition will be held Monday October 24, 2011 at 8:00 p.m.
