This year is the 115 Anniversary of Tommy Johnson’s birth.
Friday, Nov. 1 in the evening will be our Meet and Greet at the Hilton Garden Inn 335 West Capital Street Jackson, MS.
Saturday Nov. 2 will kick off the celebration of the 8th Annual Tommy Johnson festival starting at 12:00 noon with a panel discussion about “The Crossover of Blues Into A New Generation”. Guess speakers are Scott Barrett (writer and historian), Mike Lucas (retired history teacher from West Virgina), and, Dr. William Woods (chairman of the history department Tougaloo College). Dr. Edger Smith (retired scientist & chair of the history department Tougaloo College) will be the moderator.
Their will be a short film about Tommy Johnson showing as well. The Tommy Johnson Board Of Directors, Committee’s, Fan Club, and Friends & Family have worked really hard to make this happen.
