LAUREL: Lauren Rogers Museum of Art — Blues Bash

LAUREL, Mississippi — Lauren Rogers Museum of Art will hold its 19th annual “Blues Bash” from 6:30 until 10:30 p.m. June 8 on the museum’s front lawn at Fifth Avenue and Seventh Street in historic downtown Laurel.

Tickets can be purchased at the museum or by calling 601-649-6374 or emailing info@LRMA.org by June 6. Guests should bring a lawn chair or blanket. In case of rain, “Blues Bash” will be held at the Reserve in downtown Laurel, according to an LRMA news release.

Proceeds from “Blues Bash” support the museum’s education program, the release states.

This year’s event will feature award-winning Mississippi Delta blues singer Eden Brent. She developed her gutsy vocal and piano chops through family sing-alongs and a 16-year apprenticeship with the late blues pioneer Boogaloo Ames, who ultimately dubbed his protégée “Little Boogaloo.”
