Annual blues and roots music ‘festival’ started by fife-legend Otha Turner… late afternoon till late at night — including Otha’s granddaughter Sharde & the Rising Star Fife & Drum Band, Blue Mother Tupelo and many more acts. Often Kimbroughs, Burnsides and others perform. Goat (and ‘regular’) BBQ available.

DIRECTIONS: “Get off of I-55 on the Senatobia exit and turn away from town down Highway 4. Go approximately three Miles down that road to Gravel Springs Road (the second road to the right on 4 from Senatobia). Turn right on Gravel Springs Road. Go to the second 4-way stop and turn left (that road is OB McClinton Road) Follow that road about a half mile and the Turner’s Picnic is on the right there will be lots of cars & people gathered there. 7/5 (Thurs) – “King’s Grocery” (aka Big T’s Blues Club) – BLUES BENEFIT for Terry “Big T” Williams’ stepdaughter’s funeral expenses (sadly, Sherika Collins perished in an auto accident this week). Big T & Miss Bobby need to raise $$ by Saturday morning for the funeral. 8pm showtime.

Blues performances by recording artist Big T, Barry Bays and others. “King’s” is an old grocery store that has been converted to a cool, new juke joint; it is located at 401 1/2 Madison Ave., on the other side of the Sunflower River near State St. (161).
