The B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center is pleased to host Hip Hopping for Health this Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.  The fee for this workshop is $2.50 for B.B. King Museum members and $3 for non – members.  This workshop is great for individuals and family members ages 12 and older.

 

Using the very latest dance moves and exercise techniques, this workshop will teach participants warm-ups and fast-paced fat burning routines.  Hip Hopping for Health workouts are fun, effective and exhilarating!

 

Following the workshop, C&C Ensemble will perform live blues at the B.B. King Museum from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.  C&C Ensemble is a collaboration of Indianola natives, Charles Ross and Chauncy Walker.  This performance is free and open to the public.

Elders Remember Panola County Music: A Teen Oral History Project is directed at improving the Emily Jones Pointer Library’s music collection in Como, Mississippi. Through interviewing local musicians and historians, students have created a series of videos that reflect on the history of blues, gospel, opera and community theatre in Panola County, Mississippi. The Mississippi Library Commission awarded the Institute of Museum and Library Service (IMLS) Library Services and Technology Act (LSAT) grant to the Emily Jones Pointer Library in 2010 to fund the project.
